1 c. sugar
2 eggs
3/4 c. oil
2 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. buttermilk
2 1/2 c. bran
1 c. boiling water
1/2 c. currants or raisins, if desired

Directions:
Directions:
Mix sugar, egg and oil together. Sift flour, soda and salt, and beat into the first mixture. Add in buttermilk, bran with the boiling water. Add in the currants or raisins, if desired. Bake at 350 20 to 30 minutes.
