2 c. whole wheat flour
1 c. corn meal
2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. light molasses
2 c. buttermilk
1 c. raisins

Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour, corn meal, soda and salt together. Mix molasses and buttermilk together. Add mixed liquid to dry ingredients and beat well. Add raisins.

Pour into two well greased coffee cans 2/3 full. Cover with well greased foil and tie with string securely. Place in boiling water 1/3 to 1/2 way up on cans. Cans should be setting on a rack, not on bottom of kettle. Cooks 2 hours and 20 minutes. Water should continue to boil. Can boil at less speed after first half hour. Remove from cans and serve or wrap in foil. Cook covered.
