1 pkg yeast
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup sugar
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup of milk scalded
3 to 3 1/4 cup flour
1 slightly beaten egg
1 cup raisins

Directions:
Directions:
soften yeast in warm water, in large bowl, combine butter, sugar , salt and hot milk. stir to dissolve sugar, cool to lukewarm. add 1 1/2 cup flour, beat well add softened yeast and egg, beat well. add rasins, stir in remaining flour, knead until dough is soft and elastic ( 10 -12 minutes) place in greased bowl, turning to grease top, cover let double( 1 1/2 - 2 hours), punch down, round in ball, cover and let rest 10 minutes, shape in loaf and place in greased 8.5x 4.5x 2.5 inch loaf pan. turn to greased top,cover, let almost double (45-60 minutes)
Bake @ 375 35-40 minutes
drizzle cool bread with powdered sugar glaze

Glaze:
1 cup powdered sugar sifted
1 1/2 tbsp milk
drizzle with spoon after taking bread from pan and cooling on rack
