1 cup of orange rind, cut in small pieces'1/2 tsp soda
4 cups water
1 cup sugar
Batter:
1 cup sugar
3 tbsp oleo
3 eggs well beaten
1 cup milk
3 1/2 cup flour
3 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup nuts

Directions:
Directions:
combine orange rind, soda, water and bring to a boil, cooking until rind is tender, rinse in hot water until clear, drain and add sugar, stir and cool
Batter:
cream sugar and oleo until fluffy, add eggs mix well
then alternating add milk and flour, baking powder and salt, mixing well, stir in orange rind and nuts.
use 2 large bread pans greased and floured, fill pans to half full
Bake @ 350 for 40-60 minutes
