"A man who was fond of wine was offered some grapes at dessert after dinner. "Much obliged," said he, pushing the plate aside; "I am not accustomed to take my wine in pills."--Jean Antheleme Brillat-Savarin, The Physiology of Taste
This recipe for My sister's salsa, by Lisa Doyle, is from The Doyle Family Cookbook Project,
one of the cookbooks created at FamilyCookbookProject.com. We help
families or individuals create heirloom cookbook treasures.
2 cans Del Monte "original" stewed tomatoes 2 T. vegetable oil 2 T. white vinegar 1 tsp. garlic powder 1/2 tsp. crushed red pepper 8-9 slices jalepeno (leave seeds in for spicy dip) 1/2 tsp. salt
Put all ingredients in a blender and blend until it is the consistency of your choice. After blending, put in a pan and heat to boiling. Remove from heat and chill. The longer it chills, the better it tastes.
