1 tbsp yeast, 2 c whole wheat flour, 2 more cups white flour.

Directions:
In a mixing bowl, combine boiling water, butter, oats, sugar and salt. Mix till combined.

Cool till warm to the touch. Add whole wheat flour and yeast. Mix till combined. Switch to dough hook and add white flour till the dough comes together in a ball. Mix 2 minutes longer on low speed.

Form into nice ball; put in oiled dish, flipping dough over to be sure top of dough is “oiled” (I use Pam). Cover and let rise until doubled. (2-4 hours)

Punch down; roll into a rectangle. Roll up into a loaf, pinching seam and turning under ends. Put into loaf pan. Cover and let rise until doubled in size (another hour or so).

Make an egg wash with 1 egg and 2 tbsp. water. Brush over each loaf. Sprinkle a few oatmeal flakes on top. Bake at 350º for approximately 30 minutes or until it reaches an internal temperature of 190-200 degrees.

Remove from pan and cool on wire rack.
