2 lbs. ground beef 1 large onion- chopped 1-1/4 c. ketchup 1/2 c. water 1 Tbls. brown sugar 1 Tbls. white vinegar 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. ground mustard 1/2 tsp. chili powder 1/4 tsp. ground allspice 8 sandwich buns- split
In a Dutch oven, cook beef and onion over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Add the ketchup, water, brown sugar, vinegar, salt, mustard, chili powder, and allspice. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 35-40 min.
