1 deep dish pie crust
1 1/4 cup sugar
2 1/4 cup milk
3 T. cocoa
4 heaping T. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
3 egg yokes

(make coconut the same way using 1 cup of coconut instead of the cocoa)

Meringue:

3 egg whites
appx. 1/8 cream of tartar
2 to 3 T. sugar.

Directions:
Directions:
Mix sugar, flour and cocoa together then add eggs & milk. Cook on low heat until mixture thickens. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Pour into already browned crust.

Beat egg whites and cream of tartar until stiff, then add the sugar and beat just a little longer. Spread over pie making peaks. Brown in 400 or 425 oven until brown.
