2 large heads of cabbage
2 lb. ground turkey
1/2 c. rice
1 small grated onion
2 eggs
1 T. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 large sliced onion
3 8 oz. cans tomato sauce
1 16 oz. can stewed tomatoes
2 lemons
1/2 - 1 c. brown sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Parboil cabbage for 10-15 minutes. Combine meat, rice, salt, pepper, eggs, and grated onion. Place meat mounds in cabbage leaves and roll loosely. In bottom of dutch oven, lay down layer of remaining cabbage leaves. Arrange layer of cabbage rolls on this bottom layer of leaves, seam side down. Between each layer, lay on slices of onion, tomato sauce, stewed tomatoes, and lemon.

This was one of my mother's classic recipes growing up. A fabulous recipe to have young children help with (I used to love "putting the cabbage rolls to bed" in the pot)! Also freezes extremely well! SO delicious!
