1 cup butter
2 cups flour
1 tbsp sugar
pinch salt
3 eggs, separated
1 tbsp yeast
1/2 cup cold milk
slivered almonds

Directions:
Directions:
Mix butter, sugar, flour, salt like for pie, beat yolks well and mix into first mixture. Dissolve yeast in milk, add to mixture. Chill overnight.

Beat whites stiff, add 1/2 cup sugar, use more whites if available.

Knead dough folding at least 15 times. Cut in half for 2 rolls
Roll to 1/4 inch thick.
Spread whites, sprinkle almonds
Roll like a jelly roll.
Bake 45 mins in 325 oven.
Simple frosting, almond flavoring with nuts and cherries.
