1 c. white sugar
1 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 c. molasses
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. salt
4 tsp. baking soda
1 c. sour milk
1 T. cinnamon
1 T. ginger
5 c. flour

Frosting:
1 1/2 c. c. sugar
1/2 c. water
1/2 tsp. vinegar
2 egg whites
18 marshmallows
1 1/2 c. powdered sugar +

Blend sugar and shortening. Add eggs.
Stir together dry ingredients and blend in to mixture.
Bake for 10 - 12 minutes

Frosting:
Put ingredients in double boiler
Boil - Beat for 7 minutes - Remove from heat.
Add 1 1/2 c. + powdered sugar as you beat.
Frost cookies and let stand 1/2 hr. Freeze.
