1/2 cup sugar
3 tbsp water
2 squares bitter chocolate
3/4 cup oleo
2 cups sugar
1 tsp vanilla
4 eggs separated
2 1/4 cup cake flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup milk
1 tsp cream of tartar
Directions:
Directions:
Combine sugar, water and chocolate in heavy pan
cook over low heat, stirring well until chocolate melts----cool
cream butter gradually add sugar, beat well
add vanilla and egg yolks one at a time , beat well after each one, stir in chocolate mixture
combine flour, soda and salt
add to creamed mixture alternating with milk
beginning and ending with flour, mix well after each addition
beat egg whites with cream of tartar until stiff peaks form, fold into batter
grease and flour (2) 9x 13 inch pans
Bake @ 350 for 20 minutes

Frost with chocolate frosting
