3/4 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 egg, beaten
4 T. molasses
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cloves
2 cups flour
1 cup raisins

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together shortening and sugar. Add egg. Add remaining ingredients. Form into walnut-sized balls. Roll in sugar. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet for 8 to 10 minutes at 350.
