3 mirlitons(vegetable pears)
1 lb shrimp
2 medium onions chopped
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
2 eggs beaten
1 cup Italian bread crumbs
1/2 stick margarine

Directions:
Directions:
Peel mirlitons, halve mirlitons lengthwise; remove seed in center. Cut up mirlitons into pieces. Cook in small amt of boiling salted water for about 10-15 minutes then drain. Saute shrimp and onions and garlic in margarine, until shrimp is cooked. Add to shrimp mixture mashed mirlitons, eggs and Italian bread crumbs. Mix well then bake in oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until brown.
For variation ground meat may be used in place of shrimp.
