1 Medium head lettuce, shredded
1C. chopped green pepper
1C. chopped celery
1/2 C.chopped onion
1 can water chestnuts, chopped
1 10oz. pkg frozen peas, not cooked
1C. cut up cheese (cheddar)
1pt. mayonnaise
2 Tbsp. sugar

Place lettuce, green pepper, celery, onion, chestnuts, and peas in layers in a deep glass bowel. Cover with cheese. Spread mayonnaise over all. Sprinkle with sugar. Refrigerate for 8 hours or more. Sprinkle with crumbled bacon when serving and/or mix well.
1 16oz can diagonal cut green beans (drained), 4 hard cooked eggs, sliced, 1C. shredded carrots.
