"When I'm at a Chinese restaurant having a hard time with chopsticks, I always hope that there's a Chinese kid at an American restaurant somewhere who's struggling mightily with a fork."--Rick Budinich
This recipe for Pound Cake, by Dee Dee, is from The Shields Family Cookbook Project,
one of the cookbooks created at FamilyCookbookProject.com. We help
families or individuals create heirloom cookbook treasures.
1 C butter 3 C sugar 6 eggs 3 C four 1/2 tsp baking soda 1 tsp salt 2 tsp vanilla 1 C sour cream
With a mixer cream butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time. Mix in vanilla. Put salt and baking soda in flour. Add flour and sour cream alternating. Bake in preheated oven at 325º for 1 1/2 hour in a greased and floured tube pan. Cool somewhat before removing from pan.
Dee Dee's one of many pound cakes. I think this one is the best.
