1 LB butter softened
2 C sugar
3 eggs
4 C flour
2 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla. Hand blend in flour. Separate into 3 sections and place each section on wax paper. Mold them into long rolls and roll up in wax paper. Chill in refrigerator or freezer. Slice or roll out with rolling pin (sprinkle with a tad of flour) and cut into shapes with cookie cutters. Bake at 350 º , 8-10 min. You can make them thick or thin. The thinner they get the more fragile they become.

This recipe is from my high school. They were cut really large and sold for 5 or 10 cents. If you didn't buy them quickly they were all sold out. I was fortunate to know one of the mothers who worked in the cafeteria and shared the recipe.(a long long time ago)
