1/3 cup shortening
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1/2 cup milk

Topping:
1/2 cup sugar
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
3 tbsp butter or margarine, melted

Directions:
Directions:
In a bowl, cream shortening and sugar. Add egg and beat well. Combine the four, baking powder, salt and nutmeg, add to the creamed mixture alternating with milk, and mix well. Fill greased muffin cups half full. Bake at 350 for 15 - 20 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.

Topping:
In a shallow bowl, combine sugar and cinnamon. Dip muffin tops in butter, then in the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Serve warm.
