1 cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg

3/4 cup oil
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1/4 cup milk

1 cup raisins
*3 cup oatmeal (add 1/2 to 1 cup additional oats -see Personal Notes below)

Cover and refrigerate mixture an for an hour or more before dropping dollop of dough on baking sheet covered with parchment paper or silicone bake sheet. Depending on how your over heats, bake on middle or upper middle rack. You do not want the bottoms of the cookies to get too brown.

Bake on 375 for 12ish minutes. It is better to slightly under bake than over bake.

*Over the years I believe the brown sugar has changed (btw C&G denies any changes to the amount of molasses added to white cane sugar in making their brown sugar) and the cookies cannot maintain thickness and chewiness without doing the following. Please add as much as 1/2 to 1 cup additional Original Oatmeal to this recipe.
