3 tablespoons shortening
3 tablespoons sugar
1 egg
1 cup milk
1 cup All Bran Cereal
1 1/4 cup flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup dried fruit diced (optional)

Preheat oven 425
Cream shortening and sugar, add the egg, and beat well
Add the bran cereal
Sift the flour, baking powder, and salt and add to the bran mixture Fold in the dried fruit, if using
Fill greased or papered muffin cups 2/3 full
Bake 20-25 minutes
