Prepare potatoes Into prepared mashed potatoes stir a 1/2 cup of sour cream, 1/4 cup butter, and a couple handfuls of grated cheese...more or less depending on your preference. To make them gourmet, toss in a chopped green onion for color or crumbled bacon bits.

I think this was one of the first recipes that Laura learned to make. She was fussy about what she ate, but she loved mashed potatoes and she loved making this. It was always on the menu for Christmas Dinner.
