1 cup chopped dates
1 can crushed pineapple
1 cup pineapple juice
cup brown sugar

Combine and cook over low heat till thick.

Meanwhile mix together:
1 cup brown sugar
2 cups flour
2 cups oatmeal
1 tsp soda
cup melted butter or margarine
1 tsp vanilla

Pat half the oatmeal mix into the bottom of a 9 x 13 x 2 pan. Spread on pineapple/date mix, the sprinkle remaining oatmeal mix on top.

Bake at 350 for about 30 minutes, until golden brown.
