1 stick of Crisco/lard
1 cheesecloth

Directions:
Preheat oven to 300º. Rub the inside of the turkey with salt and pepper. Rub the outside of the turkey with the Crisco or lard, basting every 30 minutes. When breast and legs become a light brown color, cover the turkey with a cheesecloth that has been dipped into the turkey drippings. Baste over the cheesecloth every thirty minutes until cooked.

For a 10-16 lb. turkey bake 3½ to 4½ hours.
For an 18-25 lb. turkey bake 4½ to 6½ hours.
