1 1/2 cups halved cranberries
4 tsp. grated orange peel
3 Tbsp. sugar
2 eggs, beaten
3 cups flour
3/4 cups orange juice
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 1/4 cups sugar
3/4 cup water
1/2 cup melted butter
1 cup chopped walnuts

Directions:

Combine cranberries, orange peel and 3 Tbsp. sugar; set aside. Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, nutmeg and sugar into large bowl. In separate bowl, add eggs to orange juice and water and mix well. Add to dry ingredients. Add butter and mix. Add cranberry mixture and nuts, mixing to blend. Pour into 2 well greased bread pans. Bake at 350º for 1 1/2 hours or until it tests done with a toothpick. Cool for 20 minutes, then turn out of pan to cool.
