3 med. yams
1 cup sugar
1 tbsp. nutmeg
1/4 stick butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
pinch of salt
1-1/2 cup water

Directions:
Directions:
peel and cut yams in quarters. Sprinkle with sugar and nutmeg, add butter, add vanilla, salt and water. cover and simmer over medium heat until liquid forms a syrup. remove from heat and serve.
