3/4 c. sugar
1 15 oz. can of pumpkin (not pumpkin pie filling)
1 can evaporated milk
1 egg, beaten
3 tbsp. molasses
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp.cloves
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/2 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Combine all ingredients except milk and mix well. Gradually add milk and mix well until very smooth. Pour into 9" unbaked pie shell. Bake in preheated oven, 450º for 15 minutes, reduce heat to 350º and bake 45 minutes longer.

This is Aunt Betty's famous recipe served since the 1940's. It's a spicy, full flavored version of the American classic. This is the one that Betty McCarthy Hagenbach made every Thanksgiving and now made by her daughter JoAnn for their family gatherings.
