1 lb. can Southern Yams, mashed
1/3 cup sugar
1/4 Tsp. salt
1/2 Tsp. vanilla
2 Tbsp melted butter or oleo
pineapple juice, if needed
1/2 cup raisins, pecans or walnuts
marshmallows

Directions:
Directions:
To the mashed potatoes, add sugar, salt, butter and vanilla. If slightly dry, you may add a small amount of pineapple juice.

Finally, add the raisins, pecans or walnuts.

Bake at 350º for about 30-40 minutes, adding marshmallows to the top during the last 10 minutes.

You can alter this by adding some brown sugar, and 1/4 cup crushed pineapple as well.
