2 cups cornmeal
2 1/2 Tsp. salt
1 cup onions, finely chopped(not grated)

1/3 cup buttermilk
1/2 Tsp. soda

Directions:
Directions:
Dampen meal slightly with boiling water, using a little at a time.

Mix the buttermilk and soda together and add enough to the above mixture to form small cakes.Before forming cakes, dampen your hands with cold eater ot prevent the dough from sticking to your hands.

Once the cakes are formed, use a tablespoon, dampened with cold water to put the cakes down into the hot grease. Fry the cakes until nicely browned on all sides.
