Ingredients:  
7 c. water
1 lb. dried navy beans
ham bone (optional)
2 tsp. minced garlic
1/2 tsp. each salt and pepper
1/2 c. green pepper, chopped
2 small onions, chopped
1 c. cut up carrots
1/2 c. diced celery
1 - 8 oz. can tomato sauce
1/4 tsp. Tobasco sauce
1/2 tsp. each paprika and parsley flakes
1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper

Directions:
Heat water and beans and optional ham bone to boiling in a large heavy saucepan. Boil 2 minutes. Let stand 1 hour. Remove ham bone. Add remaining ingredients. Cover and simmer 1 1/2 hours or until beans are tender.
