1 1/2 cups pared and coarsely chopped apples
3 tbls sugar
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp lemon juice
pinch of salt
8 tbls butter.

Flakey crust..
2 1/4 cups flour
3/4 cups shortening
1 tsp salt
3 to 4 tbls cold water

Directions:

Mix the crust:
Sift flour and salt . Cut in shortening . Add water . Roll 1/8" thick , cut into 4 inch squares and set aside .

Mix apples , sugar , cinnamon , lemon juice and salt . Place 1 heaping tbls onto each square . dot with butter . Fold over into triangle and seal the edges .
Place on cookie sheet .
Bake 25 to 30 min , in a 400 oven.
