1 c. butter or oleo
1 lb. or 2 1/4 c. brown sugar
dash of salt
1 c. light corn syrup
15 oz. sweetened condensed milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter in heavy 3 quart saucepan. Add sugar and salt, stir thoroughly. Stir in corn syrup, mix well. Gradually add milk, stirring constantly. Cook and stir over medium heat to firm ball stage (245 degrees) it takes about 12-15 minutes to get there. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla. Pour in buttered 9"x9"x2" pan. Let cool and cut into bite size squares and wrap in wax paper.
