1/4 Cup Shortening or Butter
1 Cup Sugar
1 Egg
2 Cups Flour
1/2 tsp. Baking powder
1 tsp. Soda
1/2 tsp. Cinnamon
1/4 tsp. Cloves
1 tsp. Salt
3/4 Cup Applesauce
1/2 Cup Raisins or Chocolate Chips
1/2 Cup Nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar. Beat in egg. Add sifted flour, baking powder, soda and spices aternately with applesauce. Blend well; then add raisins and nuts. Bake at 350º 15 or 20 minutes on a greased cookiesheet.
