Directions:
Mix together hot water, sugar, salt and shortening. Cool to lukewarm. Measure warm water in large warm bowl. Sprinkle yeast in warm water and stir until dissolved. Stir the egg into the lukewarm water and 1/2 the flour. Beat until smooth. Stir in enough of the remaining flour to make a soft dough. Turn on floured board and knead until smooth. Place dough in greased bowl, turning to great top. Cover tightly with wax paper or foil. Store in refrigerator until double bulk or needed. To use, punch down and cut off amount needed and roll out. Top with melted butter, sugar and cinnamon. Roll into circle and slice off rolls. Let rise for 1 hour, covered and in a warm location. Back at 400º for about 12 minutes. Frost and enjoy!
