4 oz. semi-sweet chocolate, roughly chopped
1/4 c. strong coffee
2 Tb. unsalted butter
2 Tb. heavy cream
2 Tb. dark rum (or brandy)

Place all ingredients in 8-cup glass measure. Cover tightly with plastic wrap. Cook at full power for 5 minutes.
Uncover and whisk until smooth. Serve warm or at room temperature

Sauce will keep in refrigerator for at least a week. To reheat, microwave uncovered, 1 minute, then stir. This is the sauce I use for Pears Belle Helene. The recipe is from Barbara Kafka's MIcrowave Gourmet.
