1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 beaten egg
2 1/2 cup flour
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp vanilla or almond extract

Combine ingredients and refrigerate for 1 hour. Press out cookies and sprinkle with granulated sugar and bake.
