Ingredients:  
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups dates
1 cup white sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups rice krispies
coconut
icing sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Cook eggs, dates and sugar until thick. Keep stirring mixture. Remove from stove. Cool slightly. Add vanilla and rice krispies.
Roll into balls. Roll balls in icing sugar and coconut mixture.

This recipe was taken from the Emerald Rebekah Lodge cookbook. It was contributed by Lois Thompson. Grandma modified it by rolling each ball in coconut; Lois's recipe only instructed for these balls to be rolled in icing sugar.
Grandma always had these "dainties" on her cookie plates at Christmas time.
