1 1/2 c. flour
1 t. baking soda
1/2 t. salt
1/2 c. cocoa
1c. sugar
1 egg, unbeaten
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. sour milk
1 t. vanilla
1/2 c. hot water
Directions:
Directions:
Blend together dry ingredients. Add the remaining ingredients. Beat vigorously until well mixed. Bake at 375º for 20 minutes.

Sour milk can be made by adding lemon juice or vinegar to reg milk. Buttermilk can used instead of sour milk. You can use the 2 interchangeably.
