1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, mashed
1 Cup rice, uncooked
4 Cups hot water
1 8-oz can tomato sauce
1 6-oz can tomato paste
1/2 teaspoon sugar
salt and pepper to taste

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Brown ground beef with onion and garlic. Drain. Place in a greased casserole. Add rice, hot water, tomato sauce, tomato paste, sugar, salt and pepper. Mix well. Cover and bake for 1 - 1 1/2 hours.
