3 C flour
2 tsp. soda
2 tsp. salt
2 C shortening
2 Tbsp. HOT water
4 C oatmeal
1 1/2 C brown sugar (packed)
1 1/2 C sugar
4 eggs
6 oz. chocolate chips
2 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour with soda and salt. Cream shortening, sugars, and eggs. Combine with dry ingredients. Add hot water, chocolate chips, oatmeal, vanilla. Mix thoroughly. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 minutes.
