3T shortening
3 squares (i ounce each) unsweetened chocolate
2 C powdered sugar
1/4 t salt
1/3 C milk
1 t vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Heat shortening and chocolate in saucepan over low heat until melted. Blend in remaining ingredients; beat until smooth. Place saucepan of frosting in bowl of ice and water; continue beating until frosting is smooth and of spreading consistency. Stir in 1/2 c chopped nuts if desired. Fills and frosts two 8 or 9 inch layers or frosts 13 X 9 inch cake.
