1 lb. Navy beans or Northern Beans
water
ham hocks
3 med. potatoes, cooked and mashed
1 cup chopped onion
1 cup chopped celery
2 cloves garlic

Directions:
Directions:
Boil 1 lb. Navy or Northern Beans for 2 mins.
Turn off heat and cover for 1 hr.
Add water to make 5 cups. Add ham hocks and simmer approx. 2 hours until almost tender. Add 3 med. potatoes that hve been mashed. and 1 cup each of chopped celery and chopped onions and 2 cloves garlic. Simmer 1 hour. Remove bones, chop meat and return to soup. Salt and pepper to taste.
