2 pkg. yeast
1/4 c. warm water
1 1/2 c. buttermilk
1/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
4 1/2 c. flour

Directions:
Directions:
Heat buttermilk to lukewarm. In separate bowl, mix water and yeast. To yeast add buttermilk, sugar, shortening and salt. In large bowl, mix flour and soda with milk mixture. Let stand 10 minutes. Roll or pinch off and pat; place on greased baking pan. Let rise 30 minutes. Bake at 425º for 10-12 min.
