4-5 tart apples, peeled and sliced
dash salt
1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup cinnamon
2 tbsp. butter or margarine
Crumb Crust:
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
3/4 cup all-purpose flour

Directions:
Directions:
For filling: combine salt, sugar and cinnamon.
Place apples in a well greased 9 inch pie pan. Top with sugar mixture. Dot with butter.
For crumb topping: Mix butter, sugar, walnuts and flour until it resembles course crumbs.
Sprinkle crumbs over filling.
Bake 400º for 40-50 minutes. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
