1 C. white sugar
1 C. brown sugar
1 C. butter
1 C. shortening
2 eggs
1 t vanilla
2 t soda
½ t salt
4 C. flour
2 t cream of tartar

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together sugars, shortening, and eggs. Add vanilla. Sift together dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture. Form into balls about the size of a quarter. Dip top ½ of ball into milk and then into white sugar. Place on cookie sheet and flatten with greased and sugared glass. Bake 8-10 minutes at 350. They should not brown. Do not double this recipe it makes gobs!!! These end up being really light and fluffy cookies
