3 1/2 pounds large sweet onions (such as Vidalia, Walla Walla)
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
4 tablespoons butter
4 bay leaves
1/2 teaspoon salt

Thick White Bread
Parmesan Cheese

Directions:
Directions:
Slice onions VERY thin and then sautee very slowly in pan with oil, butter and spices, you are just going to sautee long enough to make the onions transparent. Line a cookie sheet with the thick white bread, spread the onion mixture on top very thickly – generously cover with the cheese and bake until the cheese is browned.

Eat with red wine!!!!!
