3 1/2 pounds large sweet onions (such as Vidalia, Walla Walla)
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
4 tablespoons butter
4 bay leaves
1/2 teaspoon salt

Thick White Bread
Parmesan Cheese

Directions:
Directions:
Slice onions VERY thin and then sautee very slowly in pan with oil, butter and spices, you are just going to sautee long enough to make the onions transparent. Line a cookie sheet with the thick white bread, spread the onion mixture on top very thickly generously cover with the cheese and bake until the cheese is browned.

Eat with red wine!!!!!
