6 to 8 medium apples, peeled and quartered
1/2 cup water
1/2 to 3/4 cup sugar or firmly packed brown sugar

Directions:
In large saucepan, combine apples and water. Heat to boiling. Simmer covered over low heat, 15 to 20 minutes or until tender, stirring occasionally. Stir in sugar and heat through.
If desired add one teaspoon cinnamon.
