1/4 cup cocoa
1 cup hot water
3/4 cup butter
2 1/2 cup flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 cup chopped nuts ( optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Mix cocoa with hot water, add butter; allow to cool. Sift dry ingredients into large bowl. Add cocoa mixture, eggs, buttermilk and vanilla. Beat until well mixed, stir in nuts. Spread in large jelly roll pan and bake for 20 to 25 minutes at 350. Frost.
