5-6 slices bacon, diced
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup finely chopped celery
2-3 tbsp. chicken base
2 cups water
14 oz. pork and beans in tomato sauce
salt or seasoning salt, and pepper, to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Put bacon, onion and celery in saucepan. Saute on fairly low heat till onion and celery are soft.

Mix chicken base with water and stir together--should taste fairly strong. Add to bacon and veggies. Stir in beans.

Cover and simmer for about 15-20 minutes.
Makes about 4 cups.
