4 T. butter or margarine
¼ c. flour
1 ¼ c. chicken broth
1 ¼ c. milk
½ c. cheese, shredded
1/3 c. broccoli, cooked and chopped
3 slices American Cheese
1/8 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter in saucepan over low heat. Add flour, stirring until smooth. Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Gradually stir in broth and milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened and bubbly. Add shredded cheese, broccoli, sliced cheese, salt, and pepper. Stir until cheese is well blended. Serve piping hot with buttered croutons.
