1 cup raisins
2 cups water
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup white sugar
1 beaten egg
2 cups flour
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. allspice

Boil 1 cup raisins and 2 cups water until reduced to 1 cup. Dissolve 1/2 cup shortening in raisins.
Add 1 cup white sugar. Add rest of ingredients.
Bake 20 min. at . Frost with powdered sugar.
